Areas of Expertise:
Howard is a lawyer and CPA whose practice focuses on federal and state income tax planning. He specializes in tax accounting issues, including accounting methods and periods; the determination, characterization, and timing of income and deductions; like-kind exchange transactions; the alternative minimum tax; and many other matters. Howard represents clients in tax controversy matters, including federal and state audits. In addition, he counsels clients on the tax consequences of merger and acquisitions and conducts due diligence for these transactions.
Howard is a frequent lecturer on various financial accounting and tax law topics. He has also published several articles in national publications.

Background:
Howard joined FGMK, LLC in 2007 with 24 years of accounting, tax and finance experience in a variety of environments. His experience includes tax manager and principal with a national CPA firm, serving as a treasurer and director of taxes of a publicly traded transportation company, and as chief financial officer for a software company.
