Areas of Expertise:

Saul has over 20 years of experience in taxation, implementing creative tax planning and tax deferral strategies in connection with corporate merger and acquisition transactions, corporate reorganization structuring, and specializing in planning for companies in the areas of real estate, environmental, service businesses, manufacturing, distribution and advertising.

With respect to Saul's real estate practice, he provides advisory services to his clients by minimizing their taxes through the use of like-kind exchange transactions, pass through entity business structuring, and the implementation of cost segregation studies.

In addition, Saul has substantial experience representing businesses and individuals in IRS tax audits, including the successful representation of distressed clients in offer-in-compromise tax matters.

Background:

Saul joined FGMK, LLC as a Partner in the firm's Real Estate Tax Division in 2002. Saul's career began in 1983 at the Chicago office of Arthur Andersen & Co. In 1985 he joined Altschuler, Melvoin & Glasser (now part of RSM McGladery) gaining excellent experience for over 10 years in their Real Estate Tax Division, where he became Senior Manager of the firm's largest engagement, a multi-billion dollar international real estate company. In 1997, Saul joined L J Soldinger Associates as Tax Director of the firm. At L J Soldinger, Saul's experience included corporate merger and acquisition structuring and tax consulting for the firm's SEC practice.
